Our Story
GMCS was founded by John Molohan, Group Head of IT at Griffith College, and Seamus Morris, CEO of MIT Education Solutions and lecturer at the South Eastern Technological University — two people with active roles inside Irish higher education who shared a straightforward conviction: that the sector deserved a purpose-built student information system designed to its specific regulatory, operational, and reporting requirements, not an international platform adapted as an afterthought. MIT Education Solutions, Seamus's Irish HE consultancy, continues as GMCS's dedicated sales and marketing partner — bringing the same sector-first approach to how Themis is introduced to new institutions.
Over the years, we have worked directly alongside registry teams, finance officers, academic heads, and IT departments at leading Irish institutions. That proximity to real operations is the reason Themis works the way it does — not designed in a vacuum, but shaped by the people who use it every day.
Today, Themis manages the full student lifecycle for institutions handling tens of thousands of learners, from initial application and registration through to graduation and alumni records. And we're still growing — both the platform and the team behind it.
